MSC Quiz Night - October 2012

Thanks to all supporters who attended our annual quiz night which was recently held on Halloween. These are always fun nights as supporters pit their wits against quizmaster Bob Asprey’s variety of questions. Although we are starting to wonder when Bob will come into the modern age and do away with his cassette recordings for the music round!

It was pleasing to see so many Millwall supporters present, all avoiding those trick or treaters who were out and about that night! Competition was fierce both at the top and the bottom. We even had a tie-breaker for last place to see who won the consolation prize, which were Lions Bars of course!

To save their own embarrassment, we won’t publish the names of those bringing up the rear, but hope it won’t put them off trying again next year! At the other end of proceedings the top three positions chopped and changed early in the evening, but  by the end of the night the top three teams had broken away from the other 11 teams competing. The smallest of margins, just 1 point separated second and third place.

By the Looking Glass with team members Ian Starkey, Geoff Coe, Alice Crossley and James Brown finished third with a commendable 179 points just one point behind multiple past winners, Dem Bones made up of Don, Paula and Colin Bone and honouree Bone for the night, Danny Berry.

New winners of the MSC Quiz Night finishing with an excellent 186 points were the Jew Boys Hill formed by the Kempster Clan. A good night was had by one and all.

The winning team comprised Neil Andrews, Paula Bone, Dave Berry and Don Bone. It’s not the first time these guys have won the trophy! Thanks to everyone who took part and all the staff who helped make it another fun night.

MSC Quiz Night - November 2011

Another good night was had by all at the MSC Quiz Night held at The Den. It was nice to see a few new faces amongst the participants testing themselves against Bob Asprey’s questions and we hope even more teams will get involved when we next hold this annual event early next season.

It was fairly competitive around the middle of the table with lots of chopping and changing throughout the night. Come the eighth and final round, third place was secured by 'Here for the Lion Bars' with 194 points. 12 points ahead and taking the runners-up slot was 'Jew Boys Hill', with the winners - who amassed an impressive 215 points - being 'Number 30 is a breach of copyright'.

The winning team comprised Neil Andrews, Paula Bone, Dave Berry and Don Bone. It’s not the first time these guys have won the trophy! Thanks to everyone who took part and all the staff who helped make it another fun night.

Help fellow fan's - Playtex MoonWalk

Sam Masson - She's only doing it again!

Yes I am mad and yes this is my third Playtex Moonwalk. A 26.2 mile power walk around the streets of London and yes you've guessed it...In my bra. I don’t think I will ever learn!

This year it will be held on Saturday 15th May 2010 12 midnight smack in the middle of play off dates (hopefully we wont be in them) so if you are about it would be great to see fellow lions and lionesses on route.

Training has been great fun so far, walking up to 4 times a week in some crazy weather. I am currently up to 16 miles and only have two more long distance walks before I can relax for two weeks.

I am aiming to beat my time of 6 and half hours that I done last year. In fact last year I was very surprised at my time as I was looking to finish in 7 hours. So this year it will be hard to beat but I will give it a good go.

I am walking on behalf of everyone who has lost or who has been touched by this cancer.

Please, please please dig deep and sponsor me.

Believe me your money makes such a difference and without you, this could not be possible.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Walk The Walk Worldwide gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now either through my online page justgiving.com/samantha-masson or come and find me on match days at the blue bus.

Thank you

The Playtex MoonWalk is organised by Walk the Walk and is the world's original power walking marathon which takes place in London at night! This is a unique event as not only do all the participants power walk a marathon, but they all wear decorated bras to raise awareness for breast cancer
